Kindergartners made art with Eric Carle. In class we read Eric Carle books and looked at the pictures and the style of his art. Then as a class they painted abstract designs of different colors of tissue paper. Students then traded paper with their classmates and created collages of different animals.
The third grade has been hard at work using line and pattern to create eye twisting radial designs. Students looked at examples of radial designs found in nature. Then they plotted out points to create their own radial web. Students alternated descriptive words about themselves and patterns to complete the design. Check them out below and on PICASA!

High School students checked out the interesting use of space, line and movement found in Celtic Knot designs. Students then worked with different lines to create a template. The lines had to be of a variety of thickness, and move under and over each other to create the illusion of moment through space. Students added value to create more emphasis on the lines and movement. Check them out below and on Picasa !
