Friday Update #2
CIPLC Students had a great first few weeks back at school and are finishing up their first unit!
Our Early Childhood students are busy experimenting with different media, and this week they continued to work with collage and paint, but Kindergarten also started papermaking!
First Grade students finished their warm and cool cactuses this week, making them truly multimedia masterpieces with liquid tempera paint and real sand. They have also started working with creating different types of lines!
Second Grade students finished their Matisse Collages and have started working in small groups to create self portraits and printed fish! Keep an eye on instagram for some works in progress.
Third Grade students are learning about color theory and using analogous colors to fill in their continuous line owls.
Fourth Grade artists are studying Modern Artist Hundertwasser, and created drawings with his signature hidden faces and eyes, contour lines, onion domes, and other elements. This week they finished drawing and started adding color.
Fifth Grade artists have been looking at the work of Paul Klee, and using simple shapes to create abstract buildings. This week students have started adding color, using watercolors to mix as many different colors as possible.
Seventh and Eighth Grade artists are adding the final touches to their self portraits - some are adding color and some are keeping their work black and white. Next up are mixed media paintings!
