Second Grade Louise Nevelson inspired sculptures
Second Grade artists explored the work of sculptor Louise Nevelson. Nevelson was born in Russia and later moved to the United States. Her sculptures are characterized by their large size, and repurposed components. She worked mostly with scrap wood and found objects. Her pieces also tend to be monochromatic, or painted in a wash of one color.
CIPLC students enjoyed using popsicle sticks and found objects to create their own monochromatic sculptures!
