Online Learning for Monday August 20th 2018 

Grade 2 
Monday is our first online learning day. For Monday I am sending home an Elements and Principles booklet. We are starting the year reviewing all of the Elements and Principles of Art. For Monday each student should color and read the Shape (Forma) and Line (Linea) pages. They can also decorate the front cover. Please send the Elements and Principles booklet back to school next week.

El lunes es nuestro primer día de aprendizaje en línea. Para el lunes enviaré a casa un mini libro de Elementos y Principios.
Estamos comenzando el año revisando todos los Elementos y Principios de Arte.
Para el lunes, cada estudiante debe colorear y leer las páginas de forma (Shape) y línea (Line).

También pueden decorar la portada. Por favor envíe el mini libro de Elementos y Principios a la escuela la próxima semana.

Grade 4

1. Re-read the facts sheet in google classroom (we will read in class Wednesday).
2. Look at the original tree of life painting.
3. Use the step by step guide to create your own tree of life. Focus on using simple shapes to create your leaves!
Make sure to use the whole page.
- Use the drawing paper provided. If you need a different paper, use any blank white paper you have available.
4. Color your tree and background.
5. Return to Class with your finished tree.
Challenge! Email me a photo of your tree, or attach a photo to the assignment in Google classroom.

Grade 7/8
Online Learning Options

One Class = 3 online learning points. Mix and match activities to create your own class. Unless noted each activity can be done only once.
Except digital items, all items should be done in your sketchbook. Work is due at the beginning of our next in-class meeting.

  1. Draw the insides of clock or watch (must use a real clock/watch not a photo). 3 pts
  2. 20 Lines. Create 20 different lines (think beyond straight, wavy, thick, thin) What can you turn into a line? - 3 pts
  3. Value scales - 1 pts per 10 value scale http://helloartsy.com/value-scale/
  4. Self Portrait using traditional proportions> One tutorial link, you are welcome to search for other links,
  5. Alternative color wheel. Look online for inspiration. 2-  3- pts
    1. Two points - Background and basic colors
    2. Three Points - Background and full color range (tints, tone,shades)
  6. Draw a Skull with full value. Use pencil or colored pencil and draw from an image 3 pts.
  7. Draw a bowl of popcorn (must use real popcorn - not a photo). Add value with pencil or colored pencil 3 pts
  8. Draw a set of keys (must use a real keys not a photo). Use pencil or colored pencils and add full value 3 pts
  9. Draw an object that is moving 1 pt
  10. Draw an object (not from a picture) three times in different lighting. 3pts
  11. Draw a close up of someone’s hair (not from a picture) 1 pt
  12. Draw your hand holding an object. Add full value with pencil or colored pencil. 3pts
  13. Draw a simple form (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone) with full value. 1 pt. Per form (up to three)
  14. Draw your hand holding a landscape (see inspiration link). Make sure you create your own landscape. Inspiration 3pts.

  16. Use song lyrics to create a full page drawing. Include the lyrics and images. 3 pts
  17. Draw two self portraits with odd expressions. 2 pts

  20. Draw a family portrait. PLOT TWIST! The family must be insects or animals. 2 pts.
  21. Draw a slice of the best pizza ever. 1 pt
  22. Draw a piece of fruit (not from a picture). Add value to create realistic forms. 2 pts
  23. Draw a four panel comic strip 3pts
  24. Create your own Pokemon 1 pt
  25. Draw a dragon 1 pt

  27. Design your own anime character. 2 pts
  28. Create a villain for a comic or movie. Give them a name, symbol, and evil powers. 2 pts.
  29. Design a kit (outfit) for your favorite sports team. 3 pts

  31. Take a photo. Used filters to change it five different ways. Submit the original photo and five altered photos on Google classroom or via email. 3 pts
  32. Plan and Film your own music video (may work with 1 or 2 other people) 3 pts each
  33. Use canva https://www.canva.com/ to create a graphic design piece.
  34. Create a flyer, invitation, social media post etc. Submit pdf copy via Google classroom or email (you may repeat this twice). 3pts.

  36. Draw or paint an image on a paper with text (old homework, essays, newspaper, book pages) inspiration here https://www.pinterest.com/pin/424605071092767428/ 2 pts

  38. Write a poem or short story and create an illustration to go with it 3 pts
  39. Create a book cover. Include a Title and Author. 3 pts
  40. Design a movie or concert poster. Include the Title/Tour name, Actors/Musicians, etc. 3 pts.
  41. Go to a museum website. Find a piece of art that speaks to you. Write about why you like it or react to it, what you see, and what you think it means. Include the link, an image of the piece, the artist and date. Turn in via google classroom or email. Information and response should be typed in a google doc or word doc. Some options are linked below - you are not limited to them.
