Bear Hunt!!! Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten

Image
Great Audience, ready for the Bear Hunters to come through the tall grass! The bear is a 21st Century learner - keeping busy in his cave with  his  I-Pad ! Going around the tree Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Art and Music classes combined to create an active musical performance. In class the students read the book "We're going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen. They then learned the song that goes with the story and different hand motions. In Art the students created props to help act out the story. They made grass, a mud puddle, a big lake and a cave. Looking for the Bear in the Cave Going through the lake  A big thank you to all of the parents, staff and students who came to watch the performance. The students were very excited to have you watch their performance! A big thanks to Mr. Lemoine, who played the important role of the bear. Check out a few pictures here as well as on Picasa. Video will be posted soon!

Image
Take a look at the three dimensional word art that fourth grade created during their drawing unit! It went up in the library yesterday! Go see them in the library and on Picasa!

Third Graders take portraits in a whole new direction - Backwards!

Image
Artist: Catherine  Artist: Gabriella  The Third grade Art students took on a fun challenge - they created portraits of the back of their heads! During their drawing unit, they studied perspective and learned how to create distinct backgrounds and foregrounds. Each student first created a background, depicting some part of CIPLC. Then using digital cameras they captured images of themselves from behind. Finally each student added value to their head and placed it onto the   background. Take a look at their portraits here and on Picasa!    Portraits on display in the Elementary Computer Lab now! Take a look in person! Artist: Fabrizzia  Artist: Isabela M.
