Middle School Portraits: The many faces of CIPLC

High School students explore Islamic Lattices

Artist: Cesar  Artist: Jesus  Artist : Misael  Students used traditional hand drawn lattice building techniques to create their own version of a style of that has been practiced for centuries. Using rulers, symmetry and patience students carefully plotted geometric shape based grids, built a series of points on top of the grid, and created fantastic patterns. Students had the option to add color or leave their finished pieces as pen drawings. Check out their work on display at CIPLC or on Picasa .  Artist: Maria Jose 

Second Grade Tap Tap Buses

Artist: Emma  Come ride a Tap Tap with second grade! Second grades learned about mixed media artwork and texture while making Haitian Tap Tap buses. Students designed a Tap Tap template, then transferred the image onto tooling foil. After they finished their buses, Second graders made backgrounds using water color pencils. Third Grade Radial Design

The third grade has been hard at work using line and pattern to create eye twisting radial designs. Students looked at examples of radial designs found in nature.Then they plotted out points to create their own radial web.
